Steps to fix Gmail incorrect password error in iPhone:-

As mentioned above there could be 2 reasons why “incorrect password” message appears on iPhone while signing into Gmail. So let us see what can be done in both cases:

  1. If your app does not support Google’s latest security standard then to keep your account more secure, Google may stop your less secured app from opening your account. In this case you have two options:

          a. You can update to a more secure app that’s up to Google’s security standards. All Google products, like Gmail, use the latest security measures.

         b.  If you want to continue using an app you're familiar with, you can go to Allow less secure apps. To let these apps use your Google Account, select  "Turn off." Google doesn't recommend this option because it could make it easier for someone to get into your account.

      2. Many apps including apps in some versions of iOS phone does not support 2 step verification. So instead of this you’ll have to create an app-specific password to sign in to your account.
